Ganirelix
Ganirelix is used as a fertility medicine to prevent premature
luteinizing hormone (LH) surges in women undergoing the fertility
procedure of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. It is an antagonist
of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH).
|
|
Cetrotide:
Cetrorelix acetate, a gonadotropin releasing
hormone (GnRH) antagonist, is used to block the LH surge during controlled
ovarian stimulation prior to Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).
It offers a new way to prevent premature ovulation in women undergoing
controlled ovarian stimulation for ART.

|
Delestrogen:
This is used to treat amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual periods)
and abnormal uterine bleeding in the absence of structural pathology
(abnormal growth), such as uterine fibroids or uterine cancer. It
also can be used to prime, or thicken the uterine lining for certain
types of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).
|
|
Enbrel:
Etanercept is injected under the skin to reduce signs and symptoms
of rheumatoid arthritis, such as joint swelling, pain, tiredness,
and duration of morning stiffness. It may be used to treat certain
immune conditions that affect fertility or cause miscarriages.

|
Estradiol Valerate:
This is used to treat amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual periods)
and abnormal uterine bleeding in the absence of structural pathology
(abnormal growth), such as uterine fibroids or uterine cancer. It
also can be used to prime, or thicken the uterine lining for certain
types of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).

|
Follistim:
Follitropin beta is identical to follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH),
which is produced by the pituitary gland. FSH helps to develop eggs
in the ovaries.
|
|
Gonal-F:
Follitropin alfa is identical to follicle-stimulating
hormone (FSH) produced by the pituitary gland. FSH helps to develop
eggs in the ovaries. Follitropin alfa is used as a fertility medicine
to develop eggs in women who have not been able to become pregnant
because of problems in ovulation.
|
|
hCG:
Chorionic gonadotropin is a drug whose actions are very similar to
those of luteinizing hormone (LH), which is produced by the pituitary
gland. It is a hormone also normally produced by the placenta in pregnancy.
In females, chorionic gonadotropin is used to help conception occur.
|
|
Heparin:
An anticoagulant. It is used to decrease the
clotting ability of the blood and help prevent harmful clots from
forming in the blood vessels. This medicine is sometimes called a
blood thinner, although it does not actually thin the blood. Heparin
will not dissolve blood clots that have already formed, but it may
prevent the clots from becoming larger and causing more serious problems.
It may be used to treat immune conditions affecting fertility or causing
miscarriages.
|
|
Lovenox:
Enoxaparin is used to prevent deep venous thrombosis,
a condition in which harmful blood clots form in the blood vessels
of the legs. It is a low molecular weight heparin-type compound with
similar beneficial effects.

Lupron
Leuprolide is a long-acting form of gonadotropin-releasing
hormone (GnRH), which is a hormone normally released from the hypothalamus.
It is referred to as an agonist. Leuprolide may be used for a number
of different medical problems. These include treatment for: * Prevention
of premature LH surges with Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART);
* anemia caused by bleeding of uterine leiomyomas (tumors in the uterus);
* central precocious puberty (CPP); * pain due to endometriosis in
women. Leuprolide is similar to a hormone normally released from the
hypothalamus gland.

|
Novarel:
Chorionic gonadotropin is designed to mimic
the action of pituitary luteinizing hormone (LH), Novarel is used
during ovulation induction therapy to trigger egg release. It can
also be used in men to stimulate testosterone production.
|
|
Ovidrel:
This is recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin
(hCG) for the induction of final follicular maturation and early luteinization.
It is used in infertile women who have undergone pituitary desensitization
and who have been appropriately pretreated with follicle stimulating
hormones as part of an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) program.
It is also indicated for the induction of ovulation (OI) and pregnancy
in anovulatory infertile patients in whom the cause of infertility
is functional and not due to primary ovarian failure.
|
|
Pregnyl:
Chorionic gonadotropin is a drug whose actions
are almost the same as those of luteinizing hormone (LH), which is
produced by the pituitary gland. It is a hormone also normally produced
by the placenta in pregnancy. Chorionic gonadotropin has different
uses for females and males. In females, chorionic gonadotropin is
used to help conception occur.
|
|
Profasi:
Chorionic gonadotropin is a drug whose actions are very similar to
those of luteinizing hormone (LH), which is produced by the pituitary
gland. It is a hormone also normally produced by the placenta in pregnancy.
In females, chorionic gonadotropin is used to help conception occur.

Progesterone in Oil:
This is used to treat amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual periods)
and abnormal uterine bleeding in the absence of structural pathology
(abnormal growth), such as uterine fibroids or uterine cancer.
|
|
Repronex:
Menotropins are a mixture of follicle-stimulating
hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) that are naturally produced
by the pituitary gland. Many women undergoing treatment with menotropins
have likely already tried clomiphene (e.g., Serophene) and have not
been able to conceive yet. Menotropins may also be used to cause the
ovary to produce several follicles, which can then be harvested for
use in gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) or in vitro fertilization
(IVF).
|
|
Synarel:
Nafarelin is an analog of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) normally
released from the hypothalamus in the brain. It is used in the treatment
of: * Endometriosis, a painful condition caused by extra tissue similar
to the lining of the uterus growing inside and outside of the uterus.
* Central precocious puberty (CPP), puberty developing too early in
boys and girls. * Prevention of premature luteinizing hormone (LH)
surges with IVF. Nafarelin works by decreasing the amount of estrogen
and testosterone in the blood.

(ART).
|
|
Clomid:
Clomiphene is used as a fertility medicine in
some women who are unable to become pregnant. Clomiphene probably
works by functioning as an "anti-estrogen" in the body. In women,
this causes ovulation to occur and prepares the body for pregnancy.
|
|
Crinone:
This is a vaginal form of progesterone used to treat amenorrhea (cessation
of menstrual periods) and abnormal uterine bleeding in the absence
of structural pathology (abnormal growth), such as uterine fibroids
or uterine cancer. It may be used to support the uterine lining following
IVF.

Prometrium:
This is a pure micronized form of progesterone that may be taken orally
or vaginally. Progesterone may be prescribed for several reasons:
* To properly regulate the menstrual cycle and treat certain types
of amenorrhea (i.e., absent menstrual periods). After the amount of
progesterone in the blood drops, the lining of the uterus begins to
come off and vaginal bleeding occurs (menstrual period). * To help
a pregnancy occur during egg donor or infertility procedures in women
who do not produce enough progesterone. Also, progesterone is given
to help maintain a pregnancy when not enough of it is made by the
body. * To prevent excessive thickening of the lining of the uterus
(endometrial hyperplasia) in menopausal women who are being treated
with estrogen replacement therapy (ERT).

|
Viagra:
Sildenafil belongs to a group of medicines that
delay the enzymes called phosphodiesterases from working too quickly.
Sildenafil is used to treat men who have erectile dysfunction (also
called sexual impotence). It has been utilized to improve the endometrial
lining in certain cases of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
In these cases, it is used intravaginally. By controlling the enzyme
phosphodiesterase, sildenafil helps to maintain an erection that is
produced when the penis is stroked. Without physical action to the
penis, such as that occurring during sexual intercourse, sildenafil
will not work to cause an erection.
|
|
Vivelle:
This is used to treat amenorrhea (cessation of menstrual periods)
and abnormal uterine bleeding in the absence of structural pathology
(abnormal growth), such as uterine fibroids or uterine cancer. It
may be used to prepare the uterine lining in some forms of Assisted
Reproductive Technologies (ART).
